Position Description

A clinical staff physicist position opportunity is available in Baltimore, Maryland by RadAmerica II, LLC. In this position, the new clinical physicist will join twelve other clinical physicists and a team of ten certified dosimetrists. The successful candidate will have a chance to participate in clinical duties at two departments with state-of-the art technology. This physicist will be contributing to program development at these centers. The ideal candidate should possess a Master or PhD in medical physics or related physics field with at least 2 years experience in therapeutic radiological physics and certified or eligible to be certified by the American Board of Radiology. Physical Therapy Assistant - Home Care Staffing Pool

Job Details:

· Provides information to the patient regarding functional status and progress towards goals. Duties may include interview, observation, palpation, tests and measurements. Assists the physical therapist in assessing the patient's environment and recommending adaptive equipment and/or home modifications that will maximize the patient's functional abilities and safety

· Provides physical therapy services in accordance with the treatment plan that is established by the physical therapist

· Performs therapeutic exercise, functional mobility training, gait training, heat/cold application, and ultrasound with the patient

· Provides written educational material as directed by the physical therapist. Offers training in aspects of care the patient/caregiver will need to manage after discharge

· Assists the physical therapist in preparing an adequate discharge plan, including referrals to community resources when needed

· Provides medical record entries according to agency standards, professional guidelines, and regulatory requirements

· Communicates regularly with the patient's physical therapist, physician, health care team, and other individuals as needed regarding patient care

Requirements:

· Associate’s degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program

· Currently licensed as a PTA in the State of Maryland.

· One-year clinical experience preferred

· Good verbal and written communication skills

· Good clinical skills

· Able to transfer, position patients and lift up to 25 lbs; able to perform physical assessments, walk and climb stairs

· Must have reliable transportation to all work sites

· CPR certification preferred

The Orthopaedic Service Line VP will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the orthopaedic service lines operating within the Baltimore based MedStar Health system. The VP will report to the Executive Vice President of Operations Baltimore Region and the respective President sponsoring the service line. There is a matrix reporting relationship with all the hospital president’s in the Baltimore division of MedStar Health. The position shall serve as staff to the regional Governance and Clinical Councils. The position will also collaborate and support other members of the orthopaedic service lines.

Duties of VP:

* Develops, coordinates and supports strategic and operational plans for the Orthopaedic Service Lines.
* Facilitates positive working relationships that result in meaningful collaboration between physicians and departments to support the Health System.
* Develops strategies to implement new services and emerging treatment options as well as determining the clinical and financial impacts.
* Participate in the actual oversight of all cost centers associated with the Orthopaedic Service Lines including budgeting, budget variance, conduct opportunity analysis, and developing cost variance plans.
* Will cultivate and support collegial and effective relationships with referral sources including primary care physicians and other groups who have the ability to refer patients to the service line.
* Demonstrate business, financial and clinical acumen in leading the orthopaedic service line, including updating the various stakeholders on the progress and achievement of the orthopaedic goals.
* Will strive for performance improvement with a goal of optimizing patient access, clinical outcomes, positive patient and family experience and sound financial results.
* Will develop education and research programs to support the goal of becoming a recognized leader in clinical outcomes.
* Will coordinate outreach, administrative and technical functions with MedStar Medical Group practice administrators to maximize referrals back to the Orthopaedic Service Lines.
* Develops, establishes and implements goals, objectives, policies and procedures to support and guide the orthopaedic service lines.
* Understand the changing health care environment and champion programs and develop strategic improvements to assure that MedStar will achieve and retain the prominence of being an orthopaedic leader.
* Helps to coordinate and integrate services with lines and continuously evaluates and re-evaluates best practices from within and outside the MedStar system.
* Will help in supporting and making recommendations for provider and staffing levels.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal guidelines and regulations.
* Provides outstanding service to all internal and external customers; fosters teamwork; and service line/practice innovation.

Qualifications:

* Master’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration, preferred
* A Business degree with 5-10 years experience including prior experience in managing an Orthopaedic Practice

Job Description

Oversees design, implementation, and maintenance for one or more administrative, financial or clinical applications. Directs requirements definition, process and use documentation, product testing, product trouble shooting, product upgrades, and report development. Coaches customers and IS management on product use and direction. Helps manage vendor relationships.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience with emphasis on information systems, business administration, or healthcare related field; course work in systems analysis and development.

Experience:

6 years related experience in a healthcare or business environment preferred. Experience in systems analysis/programming, customer service, vendor information and information systems, project management experience. Experience that includes exposure to networking and hardware preferred.

Cert./Reg./License:

Clinical analysts perform all continuing education (15 hrs.) and other activities to maintain professional licensure.

Skills:

Strong analytical ability to solve complex technical problems. Competent in micro computing including desktop applications, project management, and communication and emulation applications. Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with internal/external customers. Understanding of information systems and their impact to customers.

Qualifications

Education: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

EXPERIENCE: At least 7 years experience in healthcare law matters, including 5 years in a law firm, government agency or federal clerkship with direct involvement in relevant matters.

LICENSE/CERT/REG: Member in good standing of at least one U. S. state bar. District of Columbia and/or State of Maryland bar preferred.

Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical, research and negotiation skills. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Serves as member of hospital Leadership Team and acts as chief legal advisor to hospital president at assigned hospitals.

Exercises excellent independent judgment as lead counsel and advisor, responsible for identifying, addressing and managing legal needs in support of business and strategic objectives for assigned hospitals.

Attends Board meetings for assigned hospitals.

Demonstrates expertise regarding, federal, state and local healthcare laws and regulations.

Develops and maintains expertise regarding the healthcare industry, the business and strategic objectives of the hospital, region, legal department and System.

Conducts complex legal analyses and develops timely and pragmatic legal solutions to business problems, including contracting, business arrangements, patient care issues and regulatory compliance issues.

Provides advice and counsel to hospital executive staff on wide range of legal issues relating to business and transactional matters such as physician arrangements, laboratory services, accreditation and licensure issues, medical staff matters and credentialing.

Communicates clearly and promptly, both in writing and verbally, with all levels of hospital management, and with other members of the Legal Department on legal and other business and operational issues.

Demonstrates strong organizational, prioritization and delegation skills while working with minimal supervision.

Effectively collaborates with and supports attorneys and other staff to achieve objectives of the hospitals, region, and System, including devoting time to supporting office and departmental administrative functions.

Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to company and department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulation.

Participates in Systemwide multidisciplinary quality improvement teams and other task forces and operational initiatives by providing legal advice and counsel.
